A gun that is amazing in ideal conditions but collapses when under-equipped gets ranked lower than a gun that performs well in almost every lobby situation. This list also assumes normal battle royale conditions where you need to win multiple engagements, not just one highlight clip.

To keep this useful for most players, the rankings prioritize solo/duo/squad consistency rather than niche trick plays. You will still see high-risk weapons, but they are ranked based on how often they actually deliver value in real matches. S Tier picks are the easiest to build around and strongest in the broadest scenarios. A Tier weapons are still elite but either more situational or slightly less forgiving. B Tier options are perfectly viable with the right playstyle, while C Tier weapons can work but usually require favorable conditions or specific player skill profiles.

One important note: crate weapons are included because they can redefine a late game if obtained safely. However, accessibility matters in rankings, so a rare weapon can be powerful but still not automatically “best overall” if you cannot rely on finding it. Think of this list as a practical ladder for climbing match consistency, not just a showcase of peak DPS stats.

S Tier

M416

The M416 remains an S Tier benchmark because it combines controllability, range flexibility, and extremely stable performance with full attachments. It does not always top pure damage charts, but it wins by being the rifle you can trust in almost every circle and terrain type. In PUBG, consistency under stress beats theoretical maximums, and the M416 embodies that.

Why S Tier: Easy spray transfers, strong medium-range tracking, and good close-range time-to-kill when handled properly.

AUG A3

Why S Tier: Better baseline handling than many ARs, making it effective even before perfect attachments.

Beryl M762

The Beryl earns S Tier for raw close-to-mid-range fight-ending potential. In aggressive hands, it deletes enemies faster than more forgiving rifles. Its recoil is harsher, but players who put in practice gain one of the most lethal non-crate options in the game.

Why S Tier: Exceptional damage output and strong burst pressure in committed pushes.
Skill gate: High recoil means weaker players may underperform, but mastered Beryl users dominate entry fights.
Best use case: Aggressive fragging, building breaches, and close-circle brawls.

Mini 14

The Mini 14 is S Tier among DMRs because of speed, simplicity, and sustained pressure. Its lower recoil and fast bullet velocity make it ideal for tag-and-finish play, especially in squads where repeated body hits create easy knock conversions. You may not get dramatic one-shot moments, but you win more controlled fights.

Why S Tier: Extremely dependable at medium and long range with low handling friction.
Team value: Great for applying constant damage while teammates reposition or push.
Best use case: Pair with M416/AUG for a complete, low-risk loadout.

AWM

The AWM is still the king of bolt-action threat value. A single AWM shot forces respect, breaks tempo, and can instantly convert late-game peeks into numbers advantage. It is rare and ammo-limited, but when you have it, your team’s zone control and pick potential rise dramatically.

Why S Tier: Massive one-shot potential on protected targets and unmatched psychological pressure.
Limitation: Crate rarity and finite ammo keep it from being a universal “every match” plan.
Best use case: Late-game anchor weapon for punishing rotations and head-glitch peeks.

A Tier

ACE32

The ACE32 is a strong A Tier rifle that rewards controlled firing and measured aggression. It has excellent damage character and can outperform easier rifles in confident hands, but it does not feel as universally stable as M416/AUG for all players and all attachments states.

Why A Tier: High kill potential with good versatility across close-mid engagements.
What keeps it from S: Recoil profile can feel less forgiving in extended sprays or rushed fights.
Best use case: Players comfortable with recoil patterns who want stronger punch than lower-kick ARs.

UMP45

The UMP45 is one of the best “plug-and-play” weapons in PUBG and an excellent stabilizer for early and mid game. Its controllability lets players win crucial close fights without full attachments, and it remains viable longer than most SMGs thanks to manageable sprays.

Why A Tier: High practical win rate in close engagements for a wide range of player skill levels.
What keeps it from S: Falls behind elite ARs when fights stretch into medium-long range.

SLR

The SLR sits in A Tier because its damage output is outstanding, especially for players who can handle recoil cadence and reset timing. It can crack armor and punish peeks fast, but compared to Mini 14, it demands cleaner mechanics and can be punishing in rapid follow-up attempts.

Kar98k

The Kar98k is a classic and still highly effective, especially in circles where one opening headshot changes the entire fight. It remains slightly below top meta consistency because bolt-action tempo can be punishing if you miss your first shot in fast squad engagements.

Why A Tier: Strong pick potential and excellent utility for long-range control.
What keeps it from S: Lower follow-up speed than DMRs can reduce sustained teamfight impact.

Vector

The Vector is terrifying up close and can erase enemies before they react, making it an excellent specialist tool. However, its magazine dependency and weaker multi-range flexibility prevent it from being a universal top-tier primary for full match flow.

B Tier

AKM

The AKM remains a respectable choice with heavy-hitting identity, but it sits in B Tier because recoil and handling are less forgiving than top AR options. It can absolutely carry games, yet most players achieve better consistency with rifles that offer smoother tracking and easier spray control.

Why B Tier: Strong damage profile and good intimidation value in close-mid duels.
Why not higher: Harder recoil management lowers average fight conversion for many players.
Best use case: Confident mechanical players who favor hard-hitting AR pacing.

QBZ

The QBZ is a stable and usable AR, especially on maps where it is common, but it often feels like a “good enough” pickup rather than a true endgame priority. It performs, just not at the same all-condition ceiling as top rifles.

Why B Tier: Solid recoil and serviceable all-around performance.
Why not higher: Lacks standout strengths compared with S/A alternatives.
Best use case: Transitional primary while searching for a preferred late-game rifle.

MK12

The MK12 can be excellent in disciplined positions and has strong ranged pressure, but it lands in B Tier for broad consistency because its strengths are more map and posture dependent. If you cannot hold angles or space, it loses some of its value quickly.

Why B Tier: Reliable DMR output and useful recoil behavior for controlled firing.
Why not higher: Feels more situational in mobile, chaotic rotations compared with Mini/SLR.
Best use case: Teams that prioritize ridge control and ranged denial.

S12K / Shotgun Class

Shotguns can swing specific fights hard, especially in hot drops and building clears, but they are too range-limited for higher placement in an all-match tier list. They dominate micro-scenarios and then often require a quick swap as circles open up.

Why B Tier: High close-quarters lethality and forgiving hip-fire in tight spaces.
Why not higher: Sharp falloff in utility once engagement distances expand.
Best use case: Early-game chaos, stair fights, and deliberate interior ambushes.

C Tier

Win94

The Win94 has a unique feel and can be satisfying in skilled hands, but it is generally outclassed by DMRs and bolt-actions that provide better flexibility and easier fight conversion. It can work, yet it asks for too much precision relative to the reward.

Why C Tier: Niche effectiveness and decent performance only in specific comfort scenarios.
Main drawback: Lower practical consistency than mainstream ranged options.
Best use case: Challenge runs or map-specific early-game improvisation.

Tommy Gun

The Tommy Gun can shred at very close range, but in modern PUBG it is rarely the optimal choice once standard AR/SMG options appear. Its role is narrow, and fights frequently shift beyond its comfortable envelope during rotations and endgame spacing.

Why C Tier: Limited range profile and lower overall adaptability.
Main drawback: Gets replaced quickly as soon as stronger versatile weapons are found.
Best use case: Immediate close-range survival after low-loot landings.

Crossbow

The crossbow is dangerous in the right hands and can secure stealth eliminations, but it is one of the most situational tools in PUBG. Projectile speed, reload cadence, and miss punishment are severe enough that most players lose consistency trying to force it.

Why C Tier: High novelty and ambush value but low average reliability.
Main drawback: Misses are costly, and follow-up pressure is weak in active teamfights.
Best use case: Meme strategies, stealth picks, and highly specific endgame angles.

How to Use This Tier List

Use this list as a decision framework, not a rigid rulebook. PUBG rewards adaptation, and the best players constantly reevaluate based on loot quality, terrain, zone pulls, and teammate roles. If you are mechanically stronger with a lower-tier weapon, your real performance may still beat a textbook “meta” pick. Tier ranking tells you expected value over many matches, not guaranteed outcome in one duel.

A strong way to apply this list is to treat S and A Tier weapons as your default endgame targets, then use B and C Tier as temporary solutions. For example, you can safely run UMP45 + Mini 14 through most of a match, then transition to AUG/M416 + preferred DMR/bolt once attachments and ammo stabilize. This keeps your loadout functional at every phase instead of waiting too long for ideal guns and losing tempo.

Patch cycles matter. Small recoil adjustments, spawn changes, or attachment tuning can move guns between tiers quickly. If a patch improves weapon stability or magazine economy, expect practical rankings to shift even when raw damage remains unchanged. Re-check your assumptions every major update and run a few test matches in training mode or unranked lobbies before committing in ranked play.

Playstyle should always shape final choices:

Aggressive entry players: Prioritize Beryl/Vector-style pressure tools with fast push timing.
Flexible all-rounders: M416 or AUG plus Mini 14 gives consistent value in nearly every zone.
Anchor/sniper roles: Kar98k/AWM can control space and force enemy movement for your team.
Newer players: Favor controllable weapons first; consistency outperforms occasional highlight kills.

Finally, remember that weapon strength multiplies with utility. Smokes, stuns, peeks, and clean repositioning often matter more than a one-tier weapon difference. Use this ranking to choose better tools, then win fights by creating better situations. That is the real path to climbing in PUBG.
